Howard Grant, JD, MD, is a respected leader, with extensive experience in integrated health care. A physician and lawyer by training, he is renowned for influencing patient safety and superior clinical care at some of the nation’s most preeminent health care institutions, including Geisinger Health System in Danville, PA and Temple University Health System in Philadelphia. For more than two decades he has held leadership roles that caused positive change in clinical improvement, clinical performance, patient safety and the successful integration of clinical operations across multiple hospital organizations. He began his medical career at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where in addition to serving as a staff physician, he led programs in quality assurance, risk management and utilization management while developing and managing home care programs.

A forward thinker, Dr. Grant came to Lahey Health with a vision to create an integrated health care system that provides the full continuum of services locally; a common sense approach that keeps high quality care in the community. Dr. Grant earned both his medical and law degrees from George Washington University. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Pennsylvania.

Elizabeth Conrad leads the strategic development and integration of services for human resources across Lahey Health. She has more than 30 years of experience in human resources leadership. Prior to joining Lahey Health, Ms. Conrad served for 10 years as vice president, human resources for the St. Raphael Health Care System in New Haven, Conn., now a part of the Yale New Haven Health System. Ms. Conrad has served as the chief human resources officer in health systems in West Virginia and Portland, Maine. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), American Society of Healthcare Human Resources Administration (ASHRA) and WorldatWork (formerly the American Compensation Association).

Joseph C. Corkery, MD is chief medical officer of philanthropy for Lahey Health and a member of Lahey Health’s Board of Trustees. He has been with Lahey since 1983 and in the past has served as Chairman of General Internal Medicine and Chief Medical Officer.

Dr. Corkery completed his undergraduate education at Boston College and earned his medical degree at Harvard Medical School. He completed his internship at Massachusetts General Hospital, his residency at New England Deaconess Hospital and an oncology fellowship at Sidney Farber Cancer Institute and Peter Bent Brigham Hospital. Along with his administrative responsibilities, Dr. Corkery continues to work as a physician and teacher. He is an assistant clinical professor of medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine.

In his role as Senior Vice President of Philanthropy, Jim provides strategic direction and oversight to a strong team with expertise in major gifts, planned giving and corporate, foundation and government fundraising. Thompson guides and directs existing initiatives and identifies new opportunities to build on successive years of substantial growth in the organization’s philanthropic achievements.

Thompson joined Lahey Health after 29 years at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he served various leadership positions, including chief development officer and vice president. During his tenure at Mass General, the Development team raised nearly $2.7 billion, funding patient care, research, education and community programs, and transforming the campus with capital campaigns for new buildings. Under Jim’s leadership, the hospital successfully completed The Campaign for the Third Century of MGH Medicine — the largest campaign in the hospital’s history.

Prior to Mass General, Thompson served as Director of Development at the Roxbury Latin School and Development Officer for Bentley College.

In addition to his role at Lahey Health, Thompson teaches at the annual Johns Hopkins Development Institute and serves on the Ithaca College Campaign Committee.

Richard Nesto, MD, is responsible for physician leadership across the organization, clinical practice oversight, educational programs and research initiatives. In addition to his clinical duties over the last decade at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, Dr. Nesto has chaired both the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine and the Division of Internal Medicine, which encompasses 12 specialties and nearly half the medical center's physicians.

A professor of medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine, Dr. Nesto is internationally known for his major clinical and research advancements in the treatment of heart disease in patients with diabetes mellitus. He has an extensive bibliography with nearly 300 scientific contributions to medical literature. He has served as the national spokesperson for the American Heart Association's "Heart of Diabetes" program, and is a member of the Board of Trustees for Lahey Hospital & Medical Center.

Timothy O’Connor has extensive health care finance experience. He provides strategic financial insights and oversees financial operations for Lahey Health. Most recently, he served as executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer of Lahey Hospital & Medical Center (formerly Lahey Clinic) and has held financial management positions for North Shore Medical Center in Salem, MA., and Lynn Hospital and Union Hospital, both in Lynn, MA.

Mr. O’Connor serves on many boards and committees including the Committee on Finance of the Massachusetts Hospital Association (MHA), the Chief Financial Officers Council of the American Medical Group Association (AMGA) and the Chief Financial Officers Council of VHA-New England.

David Spackman, JD

Pauline Lodge, Senior Vice President, Business Development, Marketing & Communications, joined Lahey Health in 2013. She most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Northeast Hospital Corporation including Bayridge, Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals, Northeast Medical Practice and Beverly Outpatient Center Danvers. Prior to joining Northeast, Mrs. Lodge spent six years at Partners Health Care (Boston) as the Executive Director of Planning and Systems Development for Partners Community Health Care, Inc. In this capacity she assisted in the development of the network of community hospitals and primary care practices within the system.  At Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Mrs. Lodge first worked as a Director within Operations and Product Development and later advanced into strategic planning where she assisted in launching a relationship with the then-newly formed Partners HealthSystem, Inc. Mrs. Lodge began her career in management consulting within the Boston office of Ernst & Young. Mrs. Lodge progressed to the level of Senior Manager and was responsible for a wide variety of projects including information systems planning and implementation, operations improvement and total quality management.

As a member of the Boston health care community, Mrs. Lodge served her seven year term limit as a Trustee and Finance Committee Member of Bridgewell, Inc. Lynnfield, Mass. and is a former member of the Finance Committee of the Massachusetts Hospital Association.

She is a graduate of the inaugural Massachusetts Healthcare Leadership College. She has successfully completed the MIT Sloan School of Management Executive Program in Corporate Strategy. Mrs. Lodge holds a Master of Science degree from Bentley College, Beta Gamma Sigma National Honor Society. Mrs. Lodge is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Framingham State College where she received her Bachelor of Science degree.

David Spackman, JD, joined Lahey Health from McDermott Will & Emery LLP, where he served as counsel and a member of McDermott's Health Industry Advisory Practice Group.  He has extensive experience in health care mergers and acquisitions and his practice focused on corporate governance, executive compensation issues and conversion transactions.

Mr. Spackman also served as Chief of the Division of Non-Profit Organizations/Public Charities in the office of Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley.  In that role, he was responsible for protecting the public interest in over 22,000 public charities operating in Massachusetts by promoting transparency and ensuring enforcement of fiduciary standards of care and loyalty. He was actively involved in the Attorney General's health care initiatives, contributing to identification of health care cost drivers, provider consolidation and policy development.
