Helping You Quit Smoking and Quit Tobacco

Lahey’s highly praised tobacco cessation program is FREE to all patients with a Lahey Health Primary care Provider to help you quit smoking and quit tobacco use.

At Lahey Health, we know how very hard it is to stop using tobacco and to quit smoking. So we offer programs with individual and group coaching, education and support to help you at every step.

Our program is offered at various times at five convenient locations:

  • Burlington: Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, 41 Mall Road (Kariotis Conference Room on the 3rd floor)
  • Peabody: Lahey Medical Center Peabody, 1 Essex Center Drive (3 North Conference Room on the 3rd floor)
  • Gloucester: Addison Gilbert Hospital, 298 Washington Street (Longan Room)
  • Danvers: Lahey Outpatient Center Danvers, 480 Maple Street (LMI Conference Room A)
  • Woburn: Center for Healthy Living, 200 Unicorn Park Drive (Conference Room A - ground level)

Quitting cigarettes and other tobacco products is one of the best things you can do for your health. It is hard work, but you can do it – and we’re here to help in a compassionate and nonjudgmental way.

For most people, it takes many attempts to stay quit for good. If you’ve tried to quit in the past, don’t give up! Keep trying—each attempt will help you reach your goal.

FREE Telephone Counseling

Our tobacco treatment specialists are here to talk with you about quitting; whether you feel ready to quit or are not so sure, we can help.

Free 1-Hour Information Session

In this session; you’ll learn how to think differently about tobacco use and quitting. Our approach: No finger-pointing. No scary statistics. Just straightforward information and tools designed to help you quit.

Freedom from Smoking® Program

This 7-week “Gold Standard” program developed by the American Lung Association is offered FREE to all patients with a Lahey Health primary care provider. Building on strategies discussed in the information session and offering positive in-depth coaching to help you quit tobacco.

Ongoing Support Groups

Patients with a Lahey Health Primary Care Provider can also consider attending one of our free support groups to share and receive ongoing support on their tobacco-free journey.

One on One Coaching

In addition, one-on-one coaching is available by appointment for patients with a Lahey Health Primary Care Provider.

Meet the Team

Eleana Conway, NP, TTS (Tobacco Treatment Specialist)
Eleana earned a BS degree from Saint Anselm College, followed by a master’s degree in Community Health Nursing and a Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Boston College. She served as head nurse practitioner in the Pulmonary, Asthma, and Allergy Clinic and led smoking cessation programs at Boston Medical Center from 2000 to 2005.

Since arriving at Lahey in 2007, Eleana has developed the Tobacco Treatment Program, including inpatient and outpatient counseling for patients and colleagues. Currently she manages the ambulatory Tobacco Treatment program as well as Health Improvement Program for Lahey Clinical Performance Network, LLC. She is passionate about helping people quit tobacco and serves as a direct link between improved health and lifestyle changes, so that no one has to face their journey alone.

Ami J. Dolan, M.Ed.,TTS (Tobacco Treatment Specialist)
Ami earned a BS in education and a master in education degree from SUNY, Cortland. She received her training in tobacco treatment from University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Center for Tobacco Treatment Research and Training.

Ami conducts stop-smoking interventions including tobacco treatment information sessions, the Freedom From Smoking® groups, and tobacco-free support groups. She is committed to helping people become tobacco-free and lead more productive and healthy lives.
