Lahey Health Partners with the Lowell Spinners to Honor Cancer Survivors and Bring Wellness to the Community

Lahey Health is the official health and wellness partner to the Lowell Spinners for the 2015 season

– Lahey Health is proud to be the official 2015 health and wellness partner of the Lowell Spinners, the Class A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. Throughout the season Lahey Health will be at the stadium highlighting healthy living and hosting events for cancer awareness. On July 17, Lahey Health’s first annual Lahey Health Cancer Awareness Night will take place at LeLacheur Park during the Spinners’ game against the Connecticut Tigers.

Cancer Awareness Night will help honor those who have, and continue to, fight the disease. Lowell Spinners’ players will wear limited edition Lahey Health branded jerseys during the game which later will be signed and auctioned off with proceeds going to the Lahey Health Cancer Institute. In addition, the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a complimentary Spinners shirt designed by Lahey Health. Other amenities include healthy food options at the concession stands, and fireworks following the game.

In addition to Cancer Awareness Night, Lahey Health is the exclusive sponsor to the Lowell Spinners’ “No Tobacco” initiative and the “Get Fit at LeLacheur Park” initiative which entails a tobacco free park, a healthy menu options and signage with specific fitness facts around the stadium. Lahey Health will also be providing intake screenings for our low-dose CT lung scans at the park at several games throughout the season. Each of the initiatives that Lahey Health is sponsoring are directed toward specific health disparity issues affecting the community members of Lowell and surrounding towns.
